Description:Class
participants will explore and develop strategies to aid persons with mental
illness who were incarcerated to reduce employment barriers which are extremely
challenging for this population. The course will briefly explore the connection
between mental illness and incarceration, and primarily focus on demonstrating
how group and individual case planning can favorably impact on legal, political
and cultural employment barriers. Participants will prepare case plans
to respond to situational scenarios presented in class.

Description: This training will review the definitions
and differential diagnoses of chemical addictions; along with the recognized
and approved treatment models. Participants will have hands-on and team
role-play experiences regarding level of care placements. The premise
will then be applied to the issue of vocational exploration, placement and
tenure; with a strong emphasis on supports, co-occurring recovery and systems.
